San Nicolo' - San Nicolo'

From the hamlet of San Nicolo' in Valfurva go up towards Teregua and take path S531 up and through the Val d'Uzza. The path is almost all through woods until you reach the Casina Bassa, a small alpine pasture where animals graze in summer. After the building continue along the largely level path S511.

After an impressive larch forest you arrive at Pramezzano. From here go down to the village of Uzza and for a short distance follow the road to San Nicolo', where you can visit the Church of SS. Nicolo' and Giorgio.Church of San Nicolo' Valfurva The church dates back to at least 1223 and was the first to separate from the parish church of SS. Gervasio and Protasio at Bormio. It has an elegant façade with a green stone portal. The large altar features a precious altarpiece, a valuable work by Gian Battista De Piaz.
